Who is Behind the Lens?

Hi there! My name is Dennis Aveno and I’m a commercial photographer specialize in Acting Headshots and Corporate headshots photography based in Vancouver BC originally from Toronto, Ontario. At age 4, my family moved to the west coast where I grew up in East Vancouver. I am a people person who thrives in customer service; ensuring clients walk away with an impressionable experience. For approximately 11 years, I worked in the car audio and other various industries, in the sales division. During my studies at Langara College, I received a certificate in Business Management, which led me to pursue a career as a commercial photographer.

How I started Photography?

My passion for photography began by capturing basic landscapes and unique objects on my first point and shoot camera. I became more fascinated in taking pictures, when I attended a wedding and by using a point and shoot camera, I caught a beautiful still moment on film. To improve my skills further, I attended a few comprehensive photography workshops at Focal Point School of Visual Arts Centre in Point Grey, Vancouver. From there I learned using my camera in manual settings and techniques that focused on lighting, composition and the business side of photography.

I then branched out into commercial photography for corporate businesses; specializing in portrait headshots, product photography and fashion.

Style of Photography

My style embodies elements of modern portraiture, while blending the emotions of candid moments when photographing events. The photos I take go beyond capturing a moment in time.

When I'm not behind the lens

On my own time  I love hanging out with my other half Abby and spending time with my adorable black husky retriever who is 11. With my passion and dedication to photography, what I also like to do is scout for different unique industrial locations to take when photographing clients.
